Afghan Desk does not use its own account system, contact forms or advertising trackers. The web server may keep standard technical logs such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access. These logs are normally used for security and basic site operation.

The static pages do not intentionally set cookies. Links to external websites are provided for reference; those sites have their own privacy practices.
Images and attribution
Some images come from the original Afghan Desk archive. Where a replacement photograph requires attribution, a credit is shown beside the image.
